Red Sox on self-destruct. Again.

Theo Epstein has left the GM post in Boston. This comes almost instantly after news that he had signed a new contract.

The reaction in Red Sox Nation is about what you'd expect. Fans seem to blame the club, the media, conspiracy between the two, everyone EXCEPT Epstein.

This makes you realize the extent of the perfect storm we saw in 2004. So many things that NEVER go right for the Red Sox magically fell into place during the championship year.

It appears that things are back to normal on Yawkey Way, and, if that's the case, it's likely to be another 86 years before another World Series win in the Fens.

UPDATE: The gnashing of teeth and rending of garmets only gets worse. The shock has worn off and the true feelings of Red Sox Nation are begining to spew all over.

UPDATE UPDATE: In case you're wondering how Red Sox Nation feels about Theo, and whether any of them blame him for this fiasco, check here.
